Nuclear Structure, Astrophysics and Reactions - NuSTAR
The NuSTAR collaboration is devoted to the study of NUclear STructure, Astrophysics, and Reactions. 700 scientist from 170 institutions worldwide create the NuSTAR community. Focus is put on the use of beams of radioactive species separated and identified by the Superconducting FRagment Separator (Super-FRS), which is the central element of all NuSTAR experiments. Czech teams contribute to astrophysics and radioactivity research and provide detector modules for GADAST (NuSTAR).
Experimental research of Czech teams will be done directly on the Super-FRS and corresponding devices and will be focused on search of new types of radioactivity (neutron, double-neutron…).
One of the Czech groups will work on pure theoretical research using output of the real NuSTAR experiments. It is planned to study and describe structure of neutron stars by creating computer models.
