The Nuclear Physics Institute presented itself again at VědaFest

On 19 June 2024, the team of the NPI presented our institute at VědaFest, the largest open-air popular science event in the Czech Republic.

Olena Bakhmachuk, Jan Kameník (both from DNS) and Josef Novák (from DNP) presented a unique model of the accelerator, the Plastotron, measured the radioactivity around us and in us, and reflected on the difference in size between an atom and its nucleus. And, as in previous years, they demonstrated the properties of vacuum with several experiments.

Since 2011, ScienceFest has been a joint project of universities, academic departments and leisure institutions.
