Unique scintillation PbWO4 detectors for the Electromagnetic Calorimeter (ECAL), intended for the scientific pillar PANDA, were delivered this year by the Czech team of the FAIR-CZ-OPII project to the international FAIR laboratory in Darmstadt.
Colleagues from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University in Prague, in cooperation with the NPI´s Microtron Laboratory team, delivered a pilot series of unique detectors based on PbWO4 crystals, manufactured at CRYTUR Turnov company, to Germany as part of the development of gamma radiation detectors for ECAL in the PANDA experiment. In the period 2022-2023, they delivered the last 52 pieces, a total of 323 pieces of crystals were delivered.

The supply of PbWO4 crystals is an in-kind contribution of the Czech Republic as an associate member of FAIR to the PANDA pillar.
